Are you interested in being part of the Realist Review?

The Review is always looking for college students, graduate school students and young professionals who are passionate about advancing foreign policy discourse. We value contributors who can reliably produce original, insightful and intellectually rigorous commentaries on national security topics.

Writing and editing for Realist Review is voluntary and not a paid position. Roles in social media and other forms of content creation (like photojournalism) are also available.

Serving on the RR team is a great way to sharpen skills and boost resumes for those pursuing a career in foreign policy.

To Apply to Join the RR Team as a Regular Writer:

Send an email with the title “Application to Join RR Team” to with two items: a resume and an article draft.

The resume will provide the Editorial Team with a sense of your background. It’s a good idea to use your resume to highlight experiences that provide you with a unique perspective on foreign affairs.

This article draft should follow the Review’s submission guidelines. It will allow the editorial team to get a sense of your potential contributions. Consider it a “test drive” of your writing. The topic of the article is entirely up to you, so feel free to write about an international matter that fascinates you.
